Introduction
The beauty of Christmas is not in the grandeur of the holiday decorations, but in the simple acts of love, kindness, renewal and hope. On 22nd December 2022, Christmas was celebrated with the honourable dignitaries – Fr Aji Paul, Franciscan Brothers, Director – Dr Shalini Sinha, Deputy Director – Dr G Ramesh, Registrar – Bro. Xavier Munda, faculty/ staff members and students at 6.30 pm.
Objectives
1. To promote the spirit of giving and sharing among the students and faculty members
2. To provide an opportunity for students and faculty members to come together and celebrate the holiday season.
3. To promote the values of love, peace, and goodwill towards others.
Description
The Event started with melodious Christmas songs performed by the MMS students, followed by the speech of our Chief Guest – Rev Fr Aji Paul and a Christmas cake-cutting ceremony by our dignitaries and students. The Christmas Greetings and the Raising of Toast were done by the Director – Dr Shalini Sinha. A Christmas skit was performed by the first-year MMS students with the message indicating that Christmas is not only about gifts and celebration, it's also a reminder to be kind to everyone you meet. Students made a voluntary contribution to Kala Sadhana Arts and Charitable Centre engaging in the act of giving back to society and achieving a sense of purpose. The event ended with the Christmas Carols.
An informal event was organised for the students in the SFIMAR grounds with fun, frolic, games, and spot prizes, and a Christmas dinner was arranged for everyone. The informal event ended with the distribution of the secret Santa gifts.
Outcomes
1. Students understood the values of Christmas and their contribution to Kala Sadhana Arts and Charitable Centre gave them a sense of fulfilment.
2. Students came together to work for a cause – Celebrating Christmas on a large grand scale after the pandemic of 2 years and encouraging fellowship and unity.
