The BMS programme, offered by SFIMAR, is a four year comprehensive graduate programme that is inceptualised and aligned with National Education Policy (NEP)2020, is affiliated to University of Mumbai. The programme aims to educate the young minds with the professional knowledge, right from basic to advance that encompasses theoretical to multidisciplinary dynamic environment.
The BMS Program is spread over 8 semesters that would be covered in 4 academic years. As per NEP 2020 guidelines of developing a holistic approach in the learners’ community, SFIMAR BMS Program offers various electives and vocational courses which combines and involves interdisciplinary and professional specialization. The Program also enlightens the learners with business expertise through Institute-Industry Interface such as guest lectures, seminars, field visits etc.

The process of teaching and learning comprises of interactive class-room lectures, discussions, case-studies, Live projects and simulating assignments, effective presentation skills and guest lectures delivered by academic laurates and industry experts.
Together with the tutoring sessions, the learner would prioritise their own self-development time using carefully chosen self-learning resources from the mentors, placing a strong emphasis on a hands-on approach.
The program emphasizes on providing a wide range of electives and vocational courses. These courses are designed to bring together multidisciplinary fields and areas of professional expertise, giving you a comprehensive understanding of various aspects.
Moreover, BMS program goes beyond traditional academics by helping learners develop important business skills. Through Institute-Industry Interface, learner will gain valuable insights into the real-world applications of what they're learning. This combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience will equip learners with the skills and acumen needed to succeed in their career and business world.
The institute focuses in continuous evaluation process. It follows the NEP 2020 highlighted Revised-Choice Based Credit System (Rev-CBCS), which mandates that every learner should complete 10 hours of learning in order to gain 01 credit point. Each semester has total of 22 credit points.
The parameters for evaluation is bifurcated as 50% weightage for external and 50% weightage for internal evaluation such as attendance, class participation, academic projects, case study analysis and discussion, online-offline class tests, assignments, live-projects, presentation and end-term examinations. The learners are required to separately pass in internal and end-term examinations. The BMS programme has subject based evaluation for internal assessment.
In order to supplement the day-to-day learning, guest sessions by Industry experts are organized on specific subjects of the semester once every month. The onus of organizing the guest lecture rests on the subject faculty member who identifies the resource person and the topic of discussion.
With a view to sharpen the understanding of the subject knowledge and strengthening the concepts, the concerned subject faculty member will conduct a viva-voce . The performance of viva is evaluated and integrated into the internal assessment of the subject.
