About SFIMAR
St Francis Institute of Management and Research was established in 2002 and managed by the Society of the Congregation of Franciscan Brothers. The Society of Franciscan Brothers was founded in 1901, with Mumbai as its international headquarters, to educate and cater to the needs of the area's orphans. An orphanage and school were thus established in 1908. The Society now has 67 centres in India, operating orphanages, schools, technical training centres, leprosy centres, agricultural training farms, youth centres, clinics, dispensaries, hospitals, etc. St. Francis Institute of Management and Research (SFIMAR) is a Higher Educational Institution offering a Management Programme in the western suburbs of Mumbai. SFIMAR is affiliated with the University of Mumbai and has been approved by AICTE, New Delhi, the DTE, and the Government of Maharashtra. The Institute has been granted an Autonomous Status from the A.Y. 2024-25. SFIMAR is accredited with Grade 'A+' by NAAC in its Second Cycle of Accreditation in 2022 and ISO 9001:2015 Certified by DNV. SFIMAR is also recognised under Sections 2(f) & 12(B) of the UGC Act, 1956. The Institute offers a two-year full-time Master of Management Studies (MMS) Programme permanently affiliated with the University of Mumbai. NBA, New Delhi, has accredited the MMS programme. St. Francis Institute of Management and Research (SFIMAR), Mumbai, is a recognised PhD. Research Centre in Management Studies affiliated with the University of Mumbai. The Institute offers a four-year, full-time Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS) comprehensive graduate programme, conceptualised and aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, and affiliated with the University of Mumbai. The programme aims to educate young minds with professional knowledge, from basic to advanced levels, in a theoretical, multidisciplinary environment.
