ABOUT INSTITUTION INNOVATION COUNCIL(IIC) :

The Government of India, Ministry of Education has initiated the Institute Innovation Cell-IIC to foster an entrepreneurial spirit through the Higher Education Institutions.

IIC- Department

SFIMAR- IIC is a progressive Department with entrepreneurial workshops, sessions & talks, conducted for the students of MMS, PG, and Engineering Students (SFIT) at least once every month, some as per the IIC calendar, and some are self-driven.

Events like National Education Day was observed to honour the birth anniversary of India’s first Education Minister, Maulana Abul Kalam Azad on the 11th of December 2022 and National Youth Day on the 12th of January 2023 was celebrated with great pomp on the campus by Faculty and students being the birthday of Swami Vivekananda.

The students are equipped with internal and external mentors to guide them with idea generation and their startups foundations. Internal mentors are their immediate class Faculty facilitators and subject Faculty.

External mentors are the robust Alumni and guest speaker, Mr. Nishit Kamath, Ms. Cheryl Pereira, Mr. Deepak Dhanak, Mr. Amar Kaul and Mr. Darpan Bendre.

The Institute will be renewing the Atal Incubation membership shortly and has an incubation centre to make software packages available for students to develop their ideas before market testing. Investor meetings are the next step the IIC department is concentrating on. A repository of the creative ideas is available on you tube video of the Institute.
