Finatics Forum is the Finance Students' Forum of the MMS programme at SFIMAR, established with the objective of bridging the gap between academic learning and the dynamic world of finance. The forum serves as a platform that connects students and faculty members with industry professionals from various financial domains, enabling them to gain insights into contemporary financial practices and real-world business scenarios.
The forum actively promotes experiential learning by organizing activities, competitions, seminars, guest lectures, workshops, and industry interactions. One of its flagship initiatives is "Trade Guru – Mock Stock", an intercollegiate and intercollegiate stock market simulation competition that provides participants with hands-on exposure to trading and investment decision-making in a risk-free environment. Such activities help students understand the practical application of financial theories and concepts while enhancing their analytical and decision-making abilities. It also organized an insightful educational tour to the National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM). The program, titled "Market Metaverse," was designed to provide students with a holistic view of the financial ecosystem. An enriching session like “Interview Preparation: Building Confidence and Clarity” aimed at equipping you with the skills and confidence needed to excel in interviews.
Through its various initiatives, Finatics Forum continues to foster financial awareness, professional development, and industry engagement among the student fraternity of SFIMAR.
A marketing forum ‘Nirmiti’ shapes the students through various activities conducted during the course of the year. ‘Nirmiti’ is a dynamic marketing forum headed by the students of marketing specialization. It is directed towards organizing inter-college as well as intra-college events to promote marketing activities and simulate the marketing environment that will enhance the students’ talents and stimulate new thoughts and ideas.
It has helped build professional networks to new friendships that can naturally connect them with people who are well established in their fields. It also provides opportunities to students for them to engage with firms in the marketing sector and understand the nuances of business and marketing.
HR Renaissance Forum of SFIMAR organized two impactful field visits for MMS Semester III students during Academic Year 2025–26, strengthening industry-academia engagement and experiential learning. The first visit was held at Fleet Management Training Institute, Navi Mumbai, where HRM and Operations students gained exposure to simulator-based training, safety management practices, and a real-life maritime incident analysis highlighting the role of HR in competency development, risk mitigation, and operational excellence. The second visit took place at Navnit Motors, Thane, focusing on Human Resource Planning and application of technology in HR. Students explored HRIS platforms, AI-enabled recruitment, workforce forecasting, and analytics-driven decision-making processes. Both visits enabled students to connect theoretical concepts with real-world corporate practices, enhancing their understanding of HR as a strategic function. The initiative significantly contributed to students’ professional readiness, analytical thinking, and awareness of emerging industry trends globally evolving.
In this forum, the HR students take the lead in arranging events. Thus, it enables the students in developing their skills in planning, organising and arranging for the events successfully. The club activities are organized on a regular basis to instil team spirit among the students and implement the HR concepts practically.
The outcome of this forum is to acquaint the students with the competencies to become successful in the field of HR, imparting the knowledge base of and getting a hang of the ethical practices and behavioural aspects required.
